Wind Turbine Homemade Vertical with Innovative Wings (Easily ...

This Vertical Wind Turbine was made for about $15 Bucks by CATopalian and Robert Leveille, 2/24/2012. It is made from PVC pipe, Bucket Lids, and 3 Ring Binders for Wings. The ORIGINAL innovative wings are an overlapping triangle. Each overlap creates the flap for the next wing that creates GREAT lift!!! I used a Rivet Gun to attach everything. Please note that we also laugh at the duct tape, but we laugh more at getting 3 1/2 rotations per second :-) NOTE: This model is the original. It has a wobble because it’s not centered. In order to center it we have to use a Compass, Framing Square and Protractor to make an Equilateral Triangle inside of a circle. The next model will be shown spinning nicely with no wobble. Indeed this is only the spinning part and not the electric generating part, which will be shown in the next model also. However, it is designed as a turbine and will feature a pulley at the bottom to spin an electric motor OR we will mount a couple of neodymium magnets and make our own stator. PS: If it wasn’t for duct tape then where would first models be? Apart! Also, if you know of a way to spend 15 bucks and get almost 210 rpm you should make a video and put it on youtube :-)
