Why air tools are more useful than electric power tools in home ...

More and more are switching to air tools these days since these are easier and more convenient to use. Since these have a fewer number of moving parts, they are more durable as compared to their electric counterparts. These tools also may often more power and torque than the regular battery-powered or even electric tools that are commonly used by people.

For operating an air tool, whether it’s an air polisher or air riveter, you will require an air compressor and air hoses. The pressure per square inch or PSI rating of the air compressor should match the rating of the air tool that you will be using. Air hoses are required to connect the air tool to the air compressor. The connections should be leak-proof and tightly sealed. If the connections are not tightly sealed, it may lead to power loss and leakage of air, thus, affecting the usefulness of the air tool.

You can easily choose from a variety of air tools depending on your needs and requirements. Consider an air ratchet wrench, for example. The square drive of this tool is the same as that of a ratchet powered by hand. When the trigger is pulled, the air motor gets activated. This then turns the socket drive. If you want to change the direction of the socket drive, there is a switch present for this purpose.

A rivet gun or pneumatic hammer is another useful air tool. The tool is used to drive rivets and these pneumatic rivet guns usually have a regulator that allows the user to adjust the amount of air which enters the tools. These tools vary in sizes and shapes and are available in different handles and grips.

The air nail gun is quite popular. The hammering force to the tool comes from compressed air, just like all other air tools. The hammer present in this air tool is similar to the one in a solenoid nailer. The air nail gun is quite effective to even drive thick nails through any kind of hard material.

It is easy to use air tools and there is no doubt about that. However, you should exercise care and caution while operating these. Using coveralls, safety glasses, face masks, valved respirators, and rubber gloves can make these tools safer to use. Since these may make more noise than the regular electric-powered tools, use earmuffs or earplugs to prevent hearing loss.

There are air tools for any jobs that you want to accomplish. Different types of air tools range from air ratchets to air rivet guns to air nail guns. It is true that these are easy and convenient to use. However, you do need to use them with caution.
